A stunning luxury Image of the Pierhead building in Cardiff Bay with the War Memorial if the foreground.
The Pierhead Building is a Grade 1 listed building building of the National Assembly Of Wales in Cardiff Bay, South Wales.
It stands as one of the city of Cardiff's most familiar landmarks and was built in 1897 as the headquarters for the Bute Dock Company.
This image was shot in the early hours and has the War memorial in the foreground - an award winning sculpture, fusing together a sleeping head and a ship's hull and is known as the Cardiff Merchant Seaman's Memorial.
The memorial was shot with 2 off-camera lights to illuminate the face - A set up that took a long time to come together with a dramatic dark sky and no people to interrupt the scene.
Received a "Highly Commended Award" from the Societies and also featured in an exhibition in Cardiffs’ Blackwater Gallery.

Part of the “Penarth Pier” Collection
A black and white long exposure image of Penarth Pier shot in 2015 during a so-called supertide or megatide.
This is caused by a rare alignment between the moon and sun that will trigger a high gravitational pull which will cause the sea to rise to an unusually high level - this occurs every 19 years.
The exposure time on this image was almost 5 minutes and the intention was to create a tranquil scene with negative space from one of the Vale Of Glamorgans’ most iconic landmarks. Built in 1894 and opened a year later the Pier is one of only 2 surviving Piers in South Wales with the other being the Mumbles.

This image was shot on a cold Christmas Eve as the tide was retreating.
Using a long exposure to capture detail in the sky and some off-camera lighting was used to light the foreground.
The image has a cold feel but the inviting window lights of the Pier make for an inviting scene.
“STEPS TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA”
This image was shot during the early hours of a May morning. I had the image in mind for a long time before the conditions were finally in place.
We had a high spring tide that covered most of the steps down to the beach and I shot a long exposure image that created this dreamy scene of the steps disappearing into the sea.
This image was published in the national Professional Image Maker magazine and also awarded a coveted "Gold" award by the Societies.
“AUTUMN SANDS”
This image was shot on a stormy October day as the tide receded. I wanted to capture the patterns in the sand and the cold atmosphere of the sky.
Friars House and Friars Point can be seen in the distance.
“JACKSONS BAY LIGHTHOUSE”
This image of Jacksons Bay Lighthouse was shot during October when the foliage was stripped back allowing me to get in amongst the hedgerow and shoot from above.
A familiar landmark to residents of Barry and the Vale - this is a long exposure image showing steep holm and flat holm in the distance.
